Why James Hardie Fiber Cement Siding?

BLIND NAILING
Hardie recommends you install its fiber cement siding using blind nailing. Blind nailing refers to nailing each board to the framing. The next layer overlaps the nails, hiding them from view.
Installers must drill pilot holes before nailing the siding to the wall framing. If they do not, you will get cracks around the nail site. These aren’t just unsightly. They also endanger the siding integrity.

CAULKING AND SEALING
Your siding installer must use appropriate underlayment and flashing around all window and door openings. All seams must be completely caulked for an airtight, water-tight and energy-efficient seal.
